Chrysanthemum

I just finished this commission for a gallery. It was a challenge but fun to paint. Again, many layers and lots of back and forth! I was happy with the initial phase when it was grisaille on gold. But as my favorite college art professor said, I should not stop there, afraid to lose a passage I was happy with. (Not to mention it was supposed to be yellow!) If you stop, afraid of losing something, then you don’t progress and learn. A little struggle is helpful. I am still always learning, after all these years!
